Flight

Not much to report today. I've been feeling quite ghastly. The return of the cold that didn't blight my holiday, but might have done if I had let it do so. So the first part of the day was a wash out.

We bestirred ourselves in late afternoon to get over to Murrayfield to join hazelh, Mr hazelh, her sister and her niece to watch their cousin play ice hockey for Manchester Storm against the Edinburgh Capitals. I thought it was going to be a walkover for the Storm when they went 4-0 up in the first period, but after that Edinburgh gradually pegged them back, until they finally got it to 7-6 (with this goal, I think). That was the final score, though, although the match was a lot closer and more exciting than I expected. I practised a bit of continuous shooting, and was pleased with this result. In the extras you can see the next frame (puck already nestling in the back of the net) and then about the third frame after that, by which time the whole team had realised what had happened. My oh my, it's a quick game. It was a long time since I'd watched an ice hockey game live. My son played for about 4 years, but that was between 1998 and 2002....

And now it's snowing in Edinburgh. Proper wintery.

And Mr and Mrs hazelh were proper happy (see extras).
