Drinking Dens
Friday is fish day in Barbados and many make their way to Oistins, an area which is known for its fish markets. We decided to have a look and enjoyed the walk around the many stalls and shacks where all different sorts of fish foods, pies, etc., were on offer. We did not have anything as we had a meal booked for 7.30pm in the steak restaurant in the hotel.
I took a few pictures but my favourite is of this drinking den on the main road on the way to Oistins. They are dotted all over the island and are painted by the sponsors of the main drink they sell. The local beer is 'Banks' and I blipped a 'Banks' one a few days ago. This is a more unusual one of Malibu, a carribean cocunut rum. They love their rum here. I really like the striking colour and art work of these drinking dens.
