St Barths

After two days at sea, we arrived at St Barths early this afternoon. It's a lovely island, rocky and hilly, with the most mind boggling display of mega-yachts I've ever seen moored at the pier, with even more enormous ones anchored offshore.

We anchored in the bay, and the ship lowered the lifeboats to tender passengers to and from the dock in Gustavia. Richard and I took a semi-submersible tour over a reef, where we saw some parrot fish, sargeant major fish, a barracuda, yellow tailed snappers, and even some sea turtles! We also glided over the wreck of a boat that was sunk during a hurricane a few years ago.

The pictures above show the interior of the semi-submersible (with Mr. W at the near right) and also a small glimpse of some of the seriously impressive marine toys flaunting themselves at the town dock.
