Floating Market

Our first day in Thailand was a Sunday which is the day that the main floating market near Bangkok is on. This is something that neither Jenny or I had done before so we decided we should go. We must be becoming lazy travellers because we got in a taxi to the bus station to make the 100km trip and decided we couldn't be bothered wit the hassle of getting the bus so we ended up paying the driver to take us there and back. We spent about four times my 2006 daily travelling budget just on the taxi ride! Still, it was a good day. It is very touristy but good fun chugging down the narrow waterways looking at the various crafts and wares for sale. We managed to come away having only bought a tacky fridge magnet!
