Starting to Thaw

When I got up this morning, before it was light, it was apparent that we had had two or three millimetres of snow during the night which had settled.  Not long after it got light this very, very thin layer of snow melted and our pond started to thaw.  I took this picture of the partly thawed pond from our balcony.  Despite the fact that it is a little warmer now, if one goes outside it seems very cold and bleak, with not a trace of sunshine.  I cannot find much else to blip today.
