Pierremont Clock Tower

Visiting mum today in Darlington.

In the 1800s, the commercial and political life of Darlington was dominated by the Pease family - industrialists, bankers and sponsors of the Stockton & Darlington railway. The various branches of the family built around a dozen mansions around the town. Few survive today but the clock tower of Pierremont, built in 1874, still stands proudly.
