Playing in the Snow
We were meant to be going to a beginners canicross (running with dog, attached with a line) but sadly it was cancelled due to the weather so Ferd and I hit our local trail for a run.
Only my second run this year and two weeks since my last run.
I googled about running with vertigo and it seems that you have to build up slowly and get your head used to the motion. It went ok, after not running properly for such a while and the whole vertigo thing it feels a little like I am learning all over again.
It went ok, I started off with 3 minute run and a minute and a half walk but this was a bit too much, running 3 minutes was fine it was my head that wasnt (so maybe a good thing the canicross didnt go ahead probably not really well enough for it yet), I then dropped to even splits each of a minute and a half. I managed around 4k before stopping. My watch was doing its best to put me off and told me my pace was slower than treacle, when I'd finished I realised it had reset itself from kilometers to miles (I always run in km and know how to pace in metric, but I look at my run data in miles, I'm just strange like that).
Ferd decided that extreme swimming would be a good idea and jumped into the frozen canal, crashed through the ice (thankfully thin) and then wondered why he couldnt really get anywhere. At this point there was no thought to my head as I rushed canal side and fished him out. Yes it was cold.
Other news today, new hydration pack that I got on sale arrived and we visited MIL who is in a care home so FIL can have a bit of respite for a few days.
