Ancient and modern spires

The air was clear today.

On nearby golf courses the greens were white. Any slope worth its salt was being tested by sledges. The fairways were runways.

This is a fairly classic view north of Edinburgh (the castle is just off to the left). In this the spire of the Highland Kirk stands out - and in the distance behind it a more modern structure can be seen.

After all the fresh air it was on with catching up with family shopping then settling down to the tax returns for myself and my mother.

Marmalade making must be just over the horizon!
