Canapes

The food they are serving on the Summit this time round is streets ahead of the dreadful meals we had on her last year.

Celebrity seems to be going for quality over quantity in the dining room, with good quality ingredients served with tasty sauces and presented nicely. We have had excellent fish, filet mignon and rack of lamb for dinner. The buffet though is still a quantity over quality extravaganza for the scavenging hordes that like that sort of thing.

One area where there is still room for improvement is in the late afternoon canape department. We get three canapes apiece delivered to our cabin every afternoon, and while it is a nice touch, I can't help thinking how much nicer it would be if they dropped off a small shrimp, or some nice cheese or a sliver of smoked salmon instead of the coloured squirty blobs of goo on little bits of bread.

Today it was orange fishy stuff, bit of melon on dried ham and brie with nuts on. Unappealing as it may look, you will notice that I had already scarfed one down before I took my blip.

We'll be back home tomorrow and back on the diet.
