Mission lag and creep

I took this door off last year whilst I did the floor. The plan was to replace a couple of the wooden panels which looked horrible.
The plan turned to using glass. Then stripping and painting. Then pretty glass. Anyway, it sat there for 10 months - until my 'manager' suggested I finish it. Anyway it's nearly done but the original budget of about thirty quid has been way exceeded. Always happens.
