I Can Figure This Out

It is very cold and windy today so I didn't feel like venturing out.  The birds were scarce this morning so I refilled the feeder and placed some peanuts on the stone wall.  Last time I did that they disappeared while I wasn't looking.  This time I caught a female cardinal tossing one around.  She then got serious about cracking the shell, and eventually flew off with the reward.
