A concrete love affair

Goodbye Juice FM

Today was the last day Juice FM aired its own programming, before its switches to Capital on January 18th.

Radio for fun, young Liverpool is exactly what the station did. In a world of fairly homgenous commercial radio, often aimed at a more mainstream and older audience, Juice stood out from the crowd.

A pity then that this special little station is being cannibalised into the Capital network. Much reduced local output, and likely a much reduced playlist. Its corporate sounding style, narrow tightly play-listed music output, slick air checks and constant repetition of the brand name make Capital a much more serious, less fun and especially less individual offering for Liverpool.

Juice FM was unique, and sad to see the Juice spirit so truly lost in this new station about to launch.
