I passed this spot today, that immediately reminded me of Basile Pesso. I really admire his consistant approach to his work here on Blip, which I find quite different from his other work, which he publishes on Tumblr.
This is my humble homage to him. I've tried to achieve the same kind of deliberate asymmetry, which I find very bold indeed, as I usually do very symmetrical pictures. The lines and different textures and the overall composition is directly inspired by Basile, who have been a tremendous asset in getting my work noticed through his web gallery, Yes We Are Magazine, which can be found on Tumblr aswell. I hope it is taken the right way, as it is purely an act of respect.
Oh, and to make the homage complete, I'll add a song, that's important to me. The recent passing of David Bowie, has left me in a kind of vacuum. Three weeks before he died, I listened to his album Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars from start to finish for the first time. I was blown away, not knowing too much of his music, apart from the big hits. This song, I heard for the first time, and has reached, at least top 5 of my favourite songs of all time: Rock and Roll Suicide.
