The Untrained Eye

En Route to Tanjore

Today we drove through miles and miles of paddy fields. Between the road and a drainage stream there are numerous thatched huts of all shapes and sizes. These are the homes of the rice workers. The bare earth around these buildings are swept clean with twig brooms and washing lines sport washed bright clothing maybe reflecting the need for cleanliness in this 80% Hindu country. I hope my picture gives a snapshot of what I'm trying to say.
