Black Headed Gull ...

...in his winter plumage.    There were lots of these little gulls at Needham Lake this afternoon,    Apparently they have the black (dark brown) head in the breeding season but otherwise it has the pale head with the darker 'ear' feathers.  
A beautiful sunny day but still just hovering around 0 degrees centigrade.
