The Sunbeam

The Sunbeam, a schooner from the 1860's was washed ashore in a gale when voyaging from Kinvara to Cork. It lay buried in the sand for 111 years on the beach at Rossbeigh in County Kerry. A storm of two winters ago lifted it from the sand and deposited it higher up the beach on the shingle. When we saw it over a year ago much more of it was exposed. Today much of it is covered in pebbles.
Great to walk this beach again with earthdreamer, the light through the clouds shining on the sea and wet sand was beautiful and the views of the Inveragh and Dingle peninsulas stunning.
