The Living Years

Awesome feet!

How cool are coot's feet?! I had no idea. Not a great photo but I just love its feet.

So my journey back was eventful. We had about 20 minutes of turbulence and every couple of minutes the pilots would make an announcement telling us all not to worry. I think because one of the front page headlines in the free newspaper was about the Air France flight that crashed two years ago because of a storm!! Made me giggle a bit.

Because of the turbulence it took about an a hour for the air steward to get to me at the back of the very full plane (the busiest I've ever seen it). I asked him for a gin and tonic and he gave me 2! Very nice man indeed. After getting through the airport in a record 10 minutes and a lot of taxi chaos I arrived at my dad's. We had dinner, I fliscked through the channels and had a chat.

Oh and L made me some lovely sandwiches for the journey. :)

This morning I woke up and went into town with dad as he needed a new coat. Amazingly the first one I picked up was perfect! We then stopped at the organic bakery and patisserie market stall to get some yummy lunch things. Had a nice coffee which is a treat for my dad as he finds going into a cafe alone hard.

After that I went off to run some errands in town. I have to say it was a pleasure. Every shop assistant I spoke to all day was helpful, smiley and friendly. This is something I really miss when I'm in Hungary. There the customer is never right!

When I got home I made a lunch of scotch egg, garlic focaccia, nice ham and salad. I scanned some old photos from school in the afternoon. Went for a run, yay! Haven't been for ages but managed 25 minutes so I was happy. Dad and I cooked dinner together. Medium rare sirloin steak I picked up from Waitrose today with lots of veg. Oh I have missed English supermarkets.

Had a nice chat with L this evening but I miss him so much it actually hurts in my chest when I think about him.

I did a nice deed for the day too. In the coffee shop I offered the girl in front of my stamps for her loyalty card. She was so happy which made me happy. Little things.
