Taste of Atlantis
Off to the Taste festival this afternoon, but we all know how that turned out. I guess we should have seen it coming as we hit Tiso and Trespass this morning to pick up his 'n' hers wellies for the event.*
Not to worry though, as a couple of the folks due to be serving up food decided that a bit of flooding wasn't going to let their food go to waste. Mark Greenaway, from his eponymous restaurant, and the good folk from Angels with Bagpipes were not to be beaten - and with no small effort on their part, plus a big favour from the kind people at Summerhall laying on a venue, a feast was served up to all who turned up this evening.
Oh, and did I mention it was free of charge.
So with plenty of good food, a great setting and a well stocked bar we all made the most of it. The event's charity partner Action Against Hunger were in attendance too, with some fine chat about their work - just a shame they missed out on a larger platform to get their message out.
Thanks for everyone's efforts in putting on this pop-up restaurant and for spreading the love to local charities and emergency services night shifts - you've done us a solid and yourselves proud.
