The Briney Deep

This is a new thing at work--brining the footpaths instead of throwing salt everywhere. Apparently it is more environmentally friendly, as it releases less salt into the gutters. Either way, it makes some pretty patterns.

And it's needed these days--it was -12C when I left the apartment this morning. A 'major,' 'historic,' etc. snowstorm is on the way on Friday. Forecasts are suggesting about 15", but I'm sure it will end up being disappointing. Plus, why can't it snow on a Tuesday or a Thursday? Is that too much to ask? Still...I'm excited for the first real snow of the season.
