This isn't the way we used to do it.....
when I was a kid, we had to pull the peanut bushes out of the ground, pile them up, and then we all sat around the pile and picked the peanuts off the roots. It was a sandy and dirty job but the end product was delicious. Family and friends would help and then we'd have a "peanut boil". Everyone sat around drinking sweet iced tea and ate boiled peanuts. Fond memories of summer.
This machine pulls the bush out of the ground, strips the peanuts off and stores them in the container behind the driver. They will put the peanuts into large crates for transport to the local peanut processing plant or farmer's market.
