Attraction

Some gorgeous, low humidity weather blew in here last night after a welcome downpour. Walking out this morning, seeing everything coated in rain water and spending the morning doing a bit of much needed tidying around the yard was heavenly.

Fitting that it would be a mind-bendingly beautiful day today; it is the anniversary of the Saturday we met, many, many, many years ago. I won't say how many, just that it is double, identical digits and is not divisible by two without fractions. And rhymes with potpourri. And FYI, I was very, very, very young.

We went to the race track for our first date; his idea. Safety in crowds, I think, was the consideration. We ended up at the drive-in because the race track was too crowded after all.

I pretty much loved him right away. He claims he didn't love me till a bit later. I can't remember what he wore that night but he can describe my hair and outfit in great detail. In the weeks that followed we spent hours on the phone when we weren't together. We've talked every day since that day. His voice is my favorite sound.
