The Silly Season
There must surely be a want about a woman of advancing years, in receipt of a bus bus, who will sit of an evening knitting a doll and giving her a wardrobe of clothes she will only wear if the said woman takes time and effort to effect the change.
If I have to blame someone, and surely there must someone responsible for this ridiculous behaviour, then it is lovely Poppy in Orkney who firstly drew my attention to a book on knitting rabbits (Millie and Malkie , who having graced these pages are to go and live out west with Nina) and who secondly provided a link to a book on doll knitting.
This is the result- Alice! I have had much fun creating her and with no grandchild in need of a sweater at the moment, it has kept my fingers busy during the hours of darkness while watching television, without feeling guilty about not knitting something useful.
Today she is having a fashion shoot while I organise holiday ferries and His Lordship has disappeared into the Peebleshire hills. Perhaps I'll give her a change of clothes before he returns. She likes to look smart for him...........oh dear, I really do have a want!
She insisted I show another photo with her change of clothes
