Calendar Presentation

This evening saw a trip to down to Farol's Milton Common branch for a presentation to the photographers whose pictures were selected for their 2016 Calendar. I was lucky to be one of the photographers whose picture was used (see here).

The evening saw us presented with a framed copy of our pictures, and a £50 gift voucher, followed by a talk by James Vellacott. James is one of the brothers who own Farol's, James eschewed the agricultural business and pursued a career as a press photographer. This started out on local papers, but finished with the Daily Mirror, spending a reasonable amount of time as an embedded photographer with troops in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. His talk also touched on the more salacious side of the tabloid press too, so he has had a rounded career, prior to starting his own studio in London.

It was an interesting talk, and good to hear about some of the lengths that the press will go to.

There was a buffet too.
