Welcome to Cigsfuture; thank you so much for pledging to the future of Cigs and the community that's built up around it.

As well as the financial contribution, we are looking to redesign our service delivery and in order to keep costs to a minimum (thus ensuring lower membership fees), the use of volunteers will now be implemented.

For all of you out there, you will soon be receiving your individual e mails advising of which area of Edinburgh you have been allocated to monitor for Cigs activity. Where possible, this has been done to incorporate residence, place of work, commute, children's school run, social activity etc so as to minimise the disruption. Cigs should be incorporated as part of your everyday routine; just be vigilant (not vigilantes) and report any sightings to Cigscentral in order that they can be followed up and scheduled for blipping.

A more formal statement will be issued in due course, but the negotiations have been cordial and constructive and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the current owners of Cigs for their commitment to the cause and acknowledge the work they have done over the past year to ensure Cigs has carried on through these difficult times.
