It's Mme Tepeka's birthday, hence the four of us being up, bleary-eyed, for the grand pre-breakfast Present Opening Ceremony. I think what she really wanted was another four hours' sleep. Oops.

This cake was sitting in the kitchen this morning. I think it shows the level of confidence Mme Tepeka has in my ability to supply a birthday cake that she provided her own. In my defence, she doesn't like cake, so the lack of one in previous years was actually me catering to her wishes rather than just being useless. Or something like that.

Still, happy birthday to her! We'll probably celebrate with something more impressive than a fake bottle later...
