Badger watch

Badger Meles meles Last night I went badger watching with family and friends, and we were rewarded with some terrific views of them in their natural habitat. The sett comprises of many underground tunnels and has been active for more than 100 years. At the moment it is inhabited by two boars one sow and a cub (sex unknown yet.)
A Badger can live up to 14 years providing that it is left undisturbed. They are between 25" - 31" long weigh between 8-12 kg and can run up to 30mph.

We were also treated to a Red Deer stag with it's magnificent antlers still growing and in velvet. He just stood there - turned his head towards the hide - and he looked so majestic, what a sight.

So which one to blip ? well the badger won because thats what we went to watch.
