Gavel Fell

Snow still plentiful, so we took a half-day off from jobs and walked from Loweswater over Burnbank fell, Blake fell and Gavel fell, adding three new Wainwright fells to my increasing total (126). The snow is starting to melt on the lower slopes, and on the tops the bogs are melting under the snow - as Deb and I both found out! (Thank goodness for decent boots and gaiters!)

A memorable, fabulous and ridiculously warm day, which we ended up walking in just a couple of light merino tops, all jackets and soft shells were stuffed back in our rucksacks.
