On Lake Periyar

Amongst our activity today we visited a Spice Plantation, elephant ride for some , a cooking demonstration and delicious lunch.... and a cruise around the above mentioned lake. The vast stretch of water was created by Col. J. Pennycute in the days of British occupation of India . He is now revered by the people of Kerala because this single act made this region fertile and the wonderful place it is to day. It's banks are frequented by varied wildlife including these Egrets.
