In other news, I noticed this article on the BBC about mysterious hums and possible causes. It started off promisingly with an explanation from France that it might be to do with waves causing the ocean floor to vibrate but then finishes off by concluding that it is "all in the head". This sums up why I really hate science sometimes. We can't explain it so you must be imagining it. Happens in medicine all the time. Grr
