A nutty tale
A middling sort of weather day today so have mooching about the house for blipping inspiration.
Many, many years ago before I met MrToad I lived in Australia for a while these Aborignal carved nuts from the baobab tree were one of the souvenirs I brought back.
The baob tree or bottle tree as it's sometimes known has a huge bulbous trunk and the hollow trunk of a famous one near Derby in Western Australia was used in the 1890's as an overnight prison cell it measures around 14mts in circumferance.
The fruit is covered with a dark brown velvety skin which is scratched away for the decorating, & the white pithy inside & seeds are a useful source of food.
So an all round useful tree.
