Sea Legs

Today was a beach day. I love beach days!! It was the first time the boy stood in the sea and let the sand sink between his toes. Well, I should say it's the first time he hasn't cried. I dipped his toes in during our last beach adventure and he lasted about 2 seconds before wailing. The water was nice and warm this time, though, and he seemed to enjoy it or at least was interested in the new sensations. He also enjoyed playing in the sand, though he did try to eat it a few times. He has become so much more aware of everything in the past few weeks- especially when I'm trying to feed him. I sense this could become embarrassing in public very soon. Ah, well, the boy's got to eat!

Cleo played in the water a bit but she's not a huge fan of it. The water was "too wet." Sand was ok for a while but she really just wanted to climb on the large sandstone outcrop. All. Day. She has loved climbing every since she was able to.

I love this picture too and had a hard time choosing today. Though I have to say I can't believe I was able to get that shot. Where are all of the other families on such a beautiful day? Especially considering the lack of beautiful days this summer!
