Felixstowe Ferry

Balmy weather made for a most enjoyable walk, starting and finishing at Felixstowe Ferry.  This is a small village of houses and beach huts, with a pub and cafes and numerous boats, many of them attractively derelict.  Your actual Felixstowe, “The Port of Britain,” is several miles away and wholly different. The name “Felixstowe” means “happy place.”

A three hour stroll took us across farmland, where paths and young crops were shapely, sometimes colourful and usually wet.

Did I mention that we don’t have internet access?
