NOT a big long walk

First thing this morning I only went round the block for my walk.  Well that’s not very far for an energetic little collie like me is it?  But do you know what?.......................  I know that when I only get a very short walk first thing in the morning, it means that I’m going on a big long walk after breakfast.  Yay!

But guess what happened?................. I was just about to gobble up my breakfast when Ann’s friend phoned and asked her if she’d looked at the weather forecast.  Apparently there was an 80% chance of rain today and going for big long walk in the rain is not fun for humans.

So big long walk is cancelled until tomorrow. 

So then of course we didn’t know what to do with ourselves for the rest of the day.  Ann usually works on a Saturday and when she has a Saturday off she likes to do something special.  Today she caught up on last night’s Corrie, then she took me down to the beach for a play and the sun was shining and it seemed like a lovely day.  And she thought that her weather app was lying again?!!  Back home and we still didn’t really know what to do with ourselves so we’ve ended up just frittering the day away and we hate that.

I went out for another walk this afternoon, in the rain yet again.  Seems like the weather app was telling the truth after all?!!  We trekked around in the rain for more than an hour and a half, which wasn’t particularly pleasant. 

And now we’re home and have no plans for this evening and there’s nothing on TV and it’s still raining and Ann’s bored.  As for me…………………  well I’ve just had my dinner and am now having a little snooze on the sofa.

It really is a dog’s life!!!!
