The Old Lighthouse

The wonderful light of West Cornwall has attracted artists to St Ives since the late 19th century. It wasn't apparent today unfortunately!

Despite the drizzle, I did a little reconnaissance into town, along the sea front and out along the Smeaton's Pier before I puffed back up all the steps  to where we're staying.

This lighthouse was the original one which dates from 1831and behind it you can see the new lighthouse, the white one which was built when the harbour wall was extended in 1890.
