We took a trip, on Miss Flum's recommendation, to Helix Park, near Falkirk, parking at the football stadium. Taking the path past the pond, we avoided the playground, using the boardwalk through the wetlands, with reeds and reed mace, then by the canal as far as the River Carron, taking the obligatory photo of The Kelpies as we passed - see extra photo.

After the 'walk' on Thursday (when the only walking was in the shopping mall) we appreciated the opportunity to stretch our legs along with the families with children on their Christmas bikes and scooters and their dogs, all out in the particularly fresh air beneath a rather dull sky.
