Tasks best not left till you're over 70:No.37 ...
A combination of domestic chores and my feeling a tad under the weather with the actual weather outside (grey, windy, unpleasing) left me with no photos taken till it had grown dark outside and no creative inspiration at all. So here, instead, is the intrepid Mr PB up the ladder hanging new curtains in the spare bedroom to replace the ones sullied during the building works and which had never scooshed pleasingly along that pole anyway.
I have always felt that curtain fixings are of the devil, no matter what kind you use, from the dreaded Rufflett tape (is that how you spell it?) with the dangling strings after you've ruffled it in the approved manner (is it approved? I just did it ...) to the tabs that go over a metal pole (that's what the ones that stuck had) to the metal-lined holes in the curtain top through which the pole is threaded. Whatever you use, in a house with ceilings as high as ours, you end up perched on a ladder while doing intricate things in a restricted and ill-lit space above your head.
Especially if you leave it till teatime ...
