The Walled Garden.
 
This derelict building is a historic 150 year old hop kiln. For our ‘new’ country, this is a very old building. It is crumbling and decaying and being held together with covering vines on the outside. I found this delightful wee garden inside the four walls.
 
We were guests at a special birthday celebration which started with a high tea and later dinner. The home and garden were large and beautiful. The weather was hot and sunny, but the old established trees provided ample shade where we ate and socialised until late.
