Convergence

High in the hills above Arrochar two burns converge.

Today the burns are in spate and the white water rushes towards a small dam that will divert all of the water to an underground network of tunnels feeding a great hydro electric power station at Inveruglas on Loch Lomond some 8 kilometres away.

When the water emerges, after its roller-coaster ride through the 'spume' tunnels, then down the steep mountain in massive steel pipes to spin the giant turbines, all the fun will be over and it will become still, murky and deep until eventually it escapes to the sea.
