A bit of a hoolie

It wasn’t as cold as previous days, but slightly brighter. There was some wind and the forecast suggested precipitation sometime in the afternoon. We decided to try to go up the Corbett of Geal-charn Mor above Aviemore. There is a track that goes to around 700 metres and luckily for us a tracked vehicle had been up and down a few times carrying dead Red Deer, which are still being shot at this time of the year. This made the ascent much easier than the previous 2 days, well at least to the high point when we left the track. Then we got into the unconsolidated snow and the last 1.5 kilometres was a bit of a wade. The wind was also blowing at about 50 kms/ hr, and the spindrift was flying. The blip sums up the conditions as we went up the hill. The extra is a panorama taken lower down of the Cairngorms from the Cairngorm Plateau along to Braeriach, and then the Feshie Ridge.
