The Alan Shearer Centre

Grace and I really enjoyed our visit to the Alan Shearer Centre today. We met with our friends and spent some time in the sensory rooms before going into the hydrotherapy pool, which was wonderful. I felt like I was on a spa day! After that we all had lunch in the cafe and then went into the giant ball pit, which has translucent balls and underfloor lighting that changes every few seconds. Fabulous atmosphere. Grace wasn't so keen on that room, as she kept getting buried under the balls (it's very deep). However, she took to the pool really well, despite the big, jacuzzi style bubbles. She even got dunked completely underwater for the first time and seemed to enjoy it! Thank you to my friend (also called Grace!) for taking this photo. Thanks too to Big Al for getting the centre opened for us to enjoy - the centre also brings huge benfits to disabled children and adults and their families.
