But, then again . . . . .

Muphry’s Seat.

The MonoMonday theme for the day is a selfie, and I found a new use for a flashgun. I was using a wireless trigger and couldn’t hear the shutter for the wind blowing into one ear an out of the other, so I set the flash to minimum power (it would probably not affected the picture had it but on full) so that I could see it go off.

This seat, actually three steel framed chairs and some bits of wood, is a recent addition to the scenery – and I have absolutely no idea who Murphy is.

Muphry’s Law states that, “ If something can happen, then it will.” Aficionados, long ago, reached the consensus that, in view of this definition, the name should always be mis-spelt. Perhaps the Murphy who did the signwriting here knew that and used his own variation by missing out the apostrophe; however, my preferred explanation is that theres never an Irish greengrocer around when you want one.

Muphry's law imlies a large sample size so that the phenomenon will happen - eventually. This should not be confused with Sod's Law which says, "If a thing can possibly go wrong, it will." Only a single trial is required; for example: if there is a nail nail lying in the road, your wheel will go over it and it will cause a puncture.

This week, MonoMonday is hosted by Osuzanna and,

The extra is the colour version.

I’ve just posted yesterday’s DerelictSunday.
