Turtles

Last night we visited Mons Repos turtle rookery. Its on the coast at Bundaburg. Saw two turtles one had just finished laying and we watched her return to the sea. The other laid 113 eggs in full view. Just amazing. We were right beside her. Unfortunately the nest was below the high tide line. We helped excavate the nest with the ranger and relocate the eggs to higher ground. Also saw a nest hatch and helped the little ones to the sea. A fabulous night. Taking photos in the pitch dark was a challenge & I only had my camera. So its not a wonderful shot.
