how I feel after a day at the archives

I am unsure if it is a lovely thing, or mega annoying and super rubbing salt in the old wound, that there are ducks, geese, and swans...well swanning about, even lolling at times, out the front of the national archives. I say annoying as it can be...well annoying to see lovely things when you are hunched over a handwritten document trying your best to decipher the beautiful copperplate...even worse when it is a C19th doctor...that old chestnut about their handwriting was obviously true back then too!
