It rained heavily all morning but I was determined to get out early afternoon. In full waterproofs and with camera and phone in plastic bags in my pockets I set off to walk what I call the Rydal circuit. 

I thought it wise to alter my route when the road and adjoining footpath were flooded near the cricket club  -  I suspect the water would have gone over the the top of my boots and there was also the risk of getting drenched by passing traffic.
