Here Rest the Bones of the House of Largie......

We had a further explore of Kintyre before heading home today.
Just before Tayinloan we stopped at this very old ruined church across from the entrance to the Killean estate.
Fascinating stuff especially these early carved grave stoneswhich were in a locked nave.
They all belong to the Macdonald's of Largie who can trace their ancestry back to Somerled and the Lords of the Isles.
You can see the carved birlinn on the warrior's shield.
Fascinating stuff :-)
It has been lovely to have this short break over in Argyll but it was over too soon.
