Tree Sparrow
I returned to the bird hide today and ended up staying an hour longer than intended because of torrential rain.
Some interesting birds around.
Two tree sparrows turned up (Passer montanus). I assume they were a pair but since the sexes are similar, I can't be certain.
A male greater-spotted woodpecker dropped in to the fat-ball feeder (see extra).
Other land birds were just the usual culprits.
coal-tit, blue tits, great tits, dunnocks, robin, chaffinch, blackbird.
Water birds included mallards, moorhens, coots, mute swans, little grebes, great-crested grebe, goldeneyes.
