Purdy and the spider

Purdy is a bit of a wimp when it comes to meeting other animals.  She has cowered away from other cats, runs away if a dog walks past and was even frightened of my daughter's hamster when she saw him moving in his cage. However when it comes to insects and spiders she has no fear at all. She will leap up at our patio doors to catch bluebottles, chase bees madly around the garden and pounce on spiders, which she will then crunch up for an extra snack.  This particular spider, araneus metallicus, which normally lives out of reach in our front room gave her no worries apart from the fact that it didn't appear to be edible.  Never mind, Purdy.  I'll give you a few cat biscuits instead.
