probably the water people

By the time I finished the call to the police (seeing as the council were shut) this was at least twice the volume it was when I found it, aided by three Lothian Buses thundering through it (whilst a couple more deftly avoided it, almost as if they knew it was there). I managed to warn a couple of cars and a few cyclists away but a particularly hasty van had its rear wheel caught, though backed up and carefully wriggled free. I left it in the hands of a handy police who was wandering back to his car after attending another incident nearby.
