My Day, My Life

The Party's Over

What a day it's been, full of aspirations and hopes of dreams realised but in the end, what we were left with was tears and heartache.

Not for ourselves but for Andy Murray and his valiant but in the end vain attempt to dethrone the reigning king of the courts Roger Federer.

We were gripped to the sofa, as tightly I'm sure, as he gripped his racket.

There were moments when we held our breath, then the next we were shouting out to urge him on, as though he might hear us.

It seemed to be working.
Then when he took the first set without too much of a struggle, were we witnessing history in the making?

Yes and no

Yes, because Andy was the first British player in the mens final for 74 years.

No, because unfortunately Roger was the stronger player in the end.

But when you look at his past record, it's hardly surprising.

On paper it was probably a foregone conclusion but being Scottish we don't think that way.

Andy will be back, stronger, faster, better and he'll take that crown, I know he will!
