Don't Stop Believing ...
When Roger Federer was being interviewed on Centre Court after becoming the new Wimbledon champion, he said 'I didn't stop believing'. I really hope that Andy Murray heard that and takes it on board. The best man definitely won today, but I am certain that Murray will be back next year and will be even better. Lendl seems to be having the desired impact on him, what ever it is that he does!
I was really annoyed that the BBC new coverage of the event repeatedly used the word 'disappointing'. We've seen a much improved Murray this year who has achieved what no other Brit has in 76 years. The crowd at Wimbledon definitely weren't disappointed - they gave him the biggest cheer when he collected his trophy. And didn't he give a wonderful interview? It was lovely to see more of his human side.
This is my 75th blip (surprise, surprise). I cross-stitched this little piece to mark the occasion while I was watching the match. It helped my nerves, but unfortunately transferred the tension to my stitches, and the distraction resulted in a few mistakes, but hopefully they don't show up too much!
I promise I won't do another self-congratulatory blip until 100, and after that I'll start to reduce the frequency. But it helps me to keep positive and keep believing that I can beat this 'bleep'ing illness.
You won't be surprised by this. Without wanting to get too soppy, it is dedicated to Andy, to me, and to you all. Don't stop believing ...
